How to Write An Obituary

When writing an obituary consider including the following information:

• Full name of deceased
• Dates and locations of birth, marriage and death, as well as age
• Those preceding in death
• Survivors - including names and residence
        Spouse
        Children
        Grandchildren
        Great Grandchildren
        Brothers and Sisters
        Aunts and Uncles
        Nieces and Nephews
• Hobbies and special interests
• Military service
• Schools attended and dates of graduation
• Church affiliations, public activities, veteran status and special awards
• Mention any meaningful situations or characteristics that would remind you of the person past.

There are many advantages of pre-planning your funeral. The advantages and benefits are making your wishes known to your family and friends; your family and friends can be involved in making these decisions and thus relieving your family and friends of the emotional stress and financial burden at the time of your death.
